Vrindavan, on the
holy banks of the Yamuna, is a sacred site that reverberates the bounciness and
youthful merriment of Lord Krishna with the gopikas. The name 'Vrindavan' is
derived from the word 'Vrinda,' which is similar to the Tulsi plant that grows
abundantly in the city.According to legend, the whole area used to be a tulsi
coppice. Others say that Vrindavan is the name of one of the milkmaids, Vrinda
Devi.
